About Dr. Fran

Dr. Fran

Fran DiDomenicis, Ph.D. is a Licensed Psychologist (California PSY23691) who has worked in the field of mental health and addictions since 1973. He is a past member of the Executive Council of the Delaware Psychological Association, is Founder of the Delaware Association for Children of Alcoholics, and has taught counseling courses at local colleges in Delaware. He has relocated to the sunshine of Northern California and will be taking new clients by the middle of 2010.

Dr. DiDomenicis sees adult individuals and couples affected by a variety of life circumstances and problems. He works with conditions of depression and anxiety, phobias and traumas, as well as stress related to work, family and life transitions, marital problems, recovery from addictions, codependency, and general lifestyle and wellness issues.

Fran's style is informal and active. He engages clients in becoming responsible and powerful in their own recovery. He often helps clients succeed even when they have not gotten the results they wanted with other therapists. He often suggests behavioral and lifestyle changes, as well as readings, exercises, and other "homework" activities between therapy sessions to help clients become better skilled in managing their lives and relationships. Fran believes that wellness involves the whole person -- physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual.

Fran uses a blend of traditional and newer, holistic approaches such as Mindfulness Meditation, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Schema Therapy,Energy Psychology, and Relationship Enhancement. Information about all of these approaches is available on the Links page to the left.
